Meet Vasantha

A Culinary Magician Since 1958

Vasantha has been enchanting guests with her culinary creations and delightful recipes since 1958. She loves to try out new recipes even at her current age of 70+ and likes to regale guests with food of the choicest type.

OUR JOURNEY

How did this all start?

Salt.Pepper.Podi traces its roots to Vasantha Krishnamoorthy, a culinary enthusiast from a large family. Her journey started at the age of 8 when she began experimenting with family recipes. Over time, Vasantha’s innovations, like her famous “Vasantha Rasam,” gained a following.

After moving due to her husband’s army postings, Vasantha’s culinary skills continued to shine, delighting both family and friends. Her podis were adored by her daughter, Sangeetha, who shared her passion for cooking. The podis were loved by Vasantha’s nephews/nieces, who would ask for it even when they moved to other places for studies/work. In fact, some of the neighbours kids would not eat their food till they received the Vasantha podi taste!

Sangeetha’s marriage into a Marwari family introduced the magic of podis to a new category of folks, who had not had podis much. Recognizing the potential, Sangeetha and Manoj, her husband, envisioned a venture that would make podis as essential as Salt and Pepper in every kitchen.

And thus, Salt.Pepper.Podi was born, celebrating the love for flavors passed down through generations. Welcome to a culinary journey where tradition meets innovation.
