Ingredients
For Yummy Dal:
- Toor Dal – 1 cup
- Tamarind – Lemon-sized piece (soaked)
- Tomatoes – 2
- Onion – Optional
- Green Chillies – 3
- Turmeric – ½ tsp
- Salt – As per taste
- Magic Ingredient – MM Masala – 2-3 tbsp (adjust to desired spice level)
Preparation
Yummy Dal in 3 Steps:
- Chop the tomatoes, onions, and green chillies.
- Add the toor dal, tamarind puree, and all other ingredients to a pressure cooker. Cook for 2-3 whistles, then turn off the heat.
- Once the cooker has cooled, add the seasoning and serve hot with rice and ghee or with roti.
- Alternatively, you can substitute the tomatoes with any leafy vegetables, such as spinach (palak), amaranth leaves, or pumpkin, for a quick and tasty dal.
